Services

My services are for families seeking a deeper understanding of their dog’s behavior and who want to approach the process with thoughtfulness and compassion. I especially love helping families prepare for and start life with new puppies, working with senior dogs and fearful dogs, and in helping humans communicate with and understand their dogs with more clarity and empathy.

These days, as stress, anxiety and sensory stimulation have been increasing all around us, our dogs need more supportive guidance than ever, as much as we need more support to help understand and care for them as conditions change. No matter what any of us have learned in the past about dogs, we all benefit from looking at each dog with fresh eyes.

This is a collaborative process, one where I work alongside you and your dog to make meaningful, lasting changes.

Initial Session (2 hours): $265 ($250 on Zoom)

In the initial session we will:

  • Discuss your dog’s history, behavior, routines, as well as your goals and expectations. This will allow me to create a tailored plan specific to your situation.
  • Explore key aspects of canine communication, learning and behavior, providing you with clearer insights into what’s at the root of and/or contributing to your dog’s behavior, and how you can anticipate problems and respond more skillfully in various situations.
  • Identify some practical adjustments you can put into place right away to help minimize unhealthy, unsafe or other problematic behaviors.
  • Discuss next steps and address remaining questions.

Follow-up sessions (60-90 min):

1 at a time: $165

Prepaid sets of 4: $575

In each session, we will strategize, troubleshoot, and practice skills together with your dog.

On-going email and text support will be available between sessions.

Resources to reinforce and supplement our sessions will be provided throughout. I highly recommend taking advantage of these as much as possible.

How many sessions will it take?
Each situation is different, so the amount and frequency of sessions depends on several factors, including the combination of and severity of the behavioral issues, your dog’s background, health and learning history, your environment, your ability to follow through, and other conditions. The first session is separate to give us both a chance to make sure we are a good fit before making any kind of investment. I am committed to supporting you and your dog to the best of my ability throughout the process.

Note: For dogs with moderate to high levels stress, fear, anxiety, aggression or simply over-excitement around visitors, the initial session will be over Zoom so we can plan ahead for more successful and less stressful future interactions. In-person follow-ups will be decided on a case-by-case basis.
