Services

My services are for families seeking a deeper understanding of their dog’s behavior, and who want to approach the process with thoughtfulness and compassion. I specialize in working with sensitive and fearful dogs, and in helping humans communicate with and understand their dogs with more clarity and empathy. In times like these, when stress and anxiety is high, our dogs need supportive guidance as much as we need help understanding and caring for them. This is a collaborative process, one where I work alongside you and your dog to make meaningful changes.

Resources to support and build on our sessions are provided throughout.

Initial Session (2 hours) – $275 ($260 via Zoom)

  • We’ll discuss your dog’s history, behavior, and routines, plus your goals and expectations.
  • Gain insights into canine communication, learn what helps (and what hinders) your dog’s learning, and touch on basic physiology, like how the nervous system affects behavior.
  • Explore the motivations behind your dog’s behavior, what function the unwanted behaviors serve for your dog. This understanding is necessary for setting realistic expectations and identifying your dog’s needs at different stages.
  • Identify some practical adjustments you can put into place right away, like changes in the environment or routines, to help prevent or minimize problematic behaviors in the short-term while working on long-term behavior goals.
  • Overview of follow-up options and time for remaining questions.

Follow-Up Sessions (1 hour)

  • Single Session: $150
  • Prepaid 4-Pack: $550

Each session builds on the last, helping you strategize, troubleshoot, and practice skills together with your dog. For those that are interested, mindfulness practices are integrated throughout the process, as they tend to benefit pretty much everything.

On-going email support will be available between sessions. We can also set up a shared Google Drive folder to share notes and videos.

How many sessions will you need?
The number of sessions depends on factors like the behavior issue’s severity, your dog’s background and health, your environment, and how consistently you can apply the strategies we discuss.

The initial session is separate so that you can get a better sense of what working with me is like, and I can get a better sense of the issues and situation, before you need to make any kind of commitment.

Note: For dogs with moderate to high levels stress, fear, or aggression around visitors, we’ll start the first session over Zoom. In-person follow-ups can be decided on a case-by-case basis.

I accept checks or Zelle; credit cards will be charged a processing fee.
